Asheville Mayor, Esther Manheimer, along with Asheville City Council members, will proclaim Invasive Species Awareness Week at their upcoming meeting on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber – City Hall – 70 Court Plaza. Raven Invasive Plant Management made the submission to the city, and Raven Sterling will attend to receive the proclamation. Raven Invasive Plant Management is planning several events throughout Western North Carolina in observance of NISAW, including work days. Raven is a member of the North American Invasive Species Management Association, the NC Native Plant Society and the SC Native Plant Society and is active in educating and advocating for trees and native plants and the eradication of invasive plants in Western NC.
