Weed Wrangle – Invasive Trees- Work Day
March 2, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us for a Weed Wrangle to remove Chinese tallow tree, Chinaberry, and other invasive, exotic plants on Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. These species threaten desirable, native plants and hinder habitat management activities aimed at benefitting waterfowl, wading birds, shorebirds, and migratory land birds. We will be using selective, low volume herbicide treatments to individual stems of these detrimental species. We will provide all needed equipment and herbicide. Participants should bring plenty of water, lunch/snacks, and bug spray. Long pants, long sleeve shirts and sturdy shoes are required.
If you want to sign up or have questions feel free to email Wayne Harris at billy_harris@fws.gov. This event will be limited to the first 6 registrants. We will meet at the Houlihan Landing parking lot in Port Wentworth, GA at 9AM to proceed to the site and conclude at 12PM.
