A training on Nevada’s Early Detection and Rapid Response (EDRR) plant species and how to report them. This focuses on state-listed noxious weeds that either haven’t quite made their way into Nevada yet, but could appear at any time, and ones that haven’t quite established in large areas yet, but in small pockets in a couple areas of the state. We will be giving an overview of the program EDDMapS and how to use it to report these species. EDDMapS stands for Early Detection and Distribution Mapping System. It is an online program that anyone can use to report invasive species, and then the program takes the reports and maps them in real time. The reports can then be utilized by state agencies to follow-up on these sightings and create treatment plans for controlling these infestations.
