The Model Legislative Framework for State Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) Programs and the New Resource Toolkit for Local Governments presented by Stephanie Showalter Otts, Director of the National Sea Grant Law Center, and Lisa DeBruyckere, President of Creative Resource Strategies.
The National Sea Grant Law Center (NSGLC) has provided legal research and other technical assistance to state agencies and federal partners in the western United States since 2012. To date this work has resulted in two major work products: a model legal framework for state watercraft inspection and decontamination programs and an online toolkit for local governments. This presentation will provide an overview of these efforts, highlight key aspects and components of the products, and discuss continuing research needs.
