Central Florida CISMA Weed Wrangle, Seminole County
March 5, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Seminole County Site: Join Seminole County Natural Lands Program and SERV in the Weed Wrangle! The Weed Wrangle®, in partnership with CISMA for National Invasive Species Awareness Week (NISAW), is a “one-day, area-wide, volunteer effort to help rescue our public parks and green spaces from non-native invasive species through hands-on removal of especially harmful trees, vines, and flowering plants.” This FREE event is for volunteers of all ages. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. Long sleeves and a hat/other head covering (to prevent seeds from getting stuck in hair) also recommended. Sun protection and bug protection may be desired.
We will be working at Spring Hammock Preserve, 2985 Osprey Trail, Longwood, FL 32750. Each volunteer must have a printed, signed liability form to turn in upon arrival (see SERV webpage, https://www.seminolecountyfl.gov/departments-services/public-works/watershed-management/serv-program/index.stml#). Please contact Elizabeth Stephens (serv@seminolecountyfl.gov; 407-665-2457) with any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!
